You have to really go out of your way not to find a sale at Macy’s. Whether it’s a weekend-only sale or an extended sale that lasts throughout the month, Macy’s sales are pretty darn spectacular.
Regular, limited-time sales like Macy’s Flash Sales happen pretty frequently, as often as a couple of times a month, but don’t have a set schedule to follow. These sales are different from Macy’s One Day Sales in that they only last for 24 hours, while the latter lasts for about 48 hours (even though it’s called a one-day sale 
). The limited-time Lowest Prices of the Season sales occur around the start of a new season: spring, summer, fall and winter.
Sure, Macy’s Friends & Family (in April and June) and VIP sales are the most popular ones, but other opportunities pop up pretty much every month. Find out when and what sales are happening for the most savings throughout the year at Macy’s.
January
In January, expect periodic Flash and One Day Only sales to hold winter savings of up to 70% off, including coats, shoes and boots, handbags, activewear, bedding, and even select beauty products. These quickie sales also offered savings on basic essentials, like undies and bras, too.
Macy’s Big Home Sale
The Big Home Sale rounded out the month and continued into the first half of February, with 10% to 65% off categories like bed and bath, kitchen, mattresses, luggage and furniture.
Toward the end of the month, Macy’s is itching to clear out its remaining winter stock and will usually offer an extra 20% off winter clearance and sale merchandise.
February
February is another filled with up to 70% off during Flash and One Day Sales on winter essentials as well as men’s suits. You can expect to save up to 40% on Valentine’s Day gifts at the beginning of the month, which also includes savings on date-night outfits.
Star Money Bonus Days made an appearance this year in mid-February for Macy’s Rewards members, plus extra savings to use on a wardrobe refresh. The clearance sale continues to have new merchandise added almost daily, so don’t miss out on those savings, either.
Macy’s Jewelry Sale
The Jewelry Sale pops up just in time for Valentine’s Day — from Feb. 8 to Feb. 14 this year — with up to 70% off necklaces, rings, bracelets and earrings to spoil your honey bun.
March
The winter clearance dump continues into March with extra savings on already-reduced merchandise. This year, the Flash Week Sale was on full display and included the Basics Flash Sale, the Active Flash Sale and the Home Flash Sale with up to 60% savings. Rewards members were also treated to Star Money Bonus Days from March 8-10.
Men’s Suit Sale
Macy’s Semi-Annual Suit Sale hits this month (considered one of the best times to purchase a suit) with savings from 50% to 75%, including spring designer suits from Tommy Hilfiger, A|X Armani Exchange, Hugo Boss and Bar III, plus Kenneth Cole Reaction, Nautica and lots more.
Macy’s VIP Sale: Spring
The spring Macy’s VIP Sale is a big one to shop. It comes around a few times throughout the year and pretty much always offers an extra 30% off in multiple categories and designer brands, plus an extra 15% off select beauty products. The most recent spring edit of the VIP Sale lasted until April 7 and has historically started at the end of March.
April
Flash Sales in April have included up to 50% off wedding-ready dresses, men’s suits and lots more. Macy’s Lowest Prices of the Season sale for the Feb. 1 to April 30 season offers limited-time savings across multiple categories throughout the month, like up to 60% on clothes for everyone. This sale then hopped over to savings on furniture. The Great Shoe Sale comes around in mid-April, and so does another Star Money Bonus Days opportunity.
Macy’s Friends & Family Sale: Spring
Another pretty famous one, much like the VIP Sale, the Macy’s Friends & Family Sale also offers an extra 30% off select merchandise storewide and 15% off select beauty products, making it the perfect chance to save on gifts for Mother’s Day. In 2023, it popped up on April 20 and lasted until April 30.
May
One Day and Flash Sales basically owned the month of May last year. They included 50% off swimwear, up to 50% off grad gifts and lots more. Mother’s Day gifts were an extra 25% off in the days leading up to the big celebration. The Ultimate Shopping Event (May 16-21, 2023) is a sale that offers an extra 25% off regular-priced, sale and clearance merchandise for your home and wardrobe.
Macy’s Memorial Day Sale
The Macy’s Memorial Day Sale celebrates the upcoming summer season with 25% to 40% off, plus an extra 20% off swimsuits, dresses and more. This sale normally pops up during the week leading up to the long weekend holiday.
June
In June, the limited-time Lowest Prices of the Season sale happens at the beginning of the month, with up to 60% off storewide for the May 1 to July 31 season. Plus, the Clearance Sale continues offering savings of up to 70% on any leftover winter merch and spring gear as the dog days of summer are officially upon us.
Last year, the Flash Sales were less frequent but no less dazzling, featuring up to 70% off jewelry and watches, up to 65% off shoes and 50% off dressy looks.
Macy’s Friends & Family Sale
Ahead of Father’s Day, the Macy’s Friends & Family Sale (June 6-12, 2023) offers an extra 30% off top brands and free shipping on orders over $25 and 15% off select beauty products, like cologne and self-care items. Last year, Macy’s also ran a sale for up to 60% off men’s Calvin Klein suits, blazers and pants for those in the market.
At the end of the month last year, Macy’s early 4th of July sale popped up (June 28, 2023) with an extra 20% off summertime swag and so did Star Money Bonus Days for Rewards members.
July
Continue shopping the 4th of July sale during the beginning of the month until the Black Friday in July Sale consumes the rest of the first half of the month. One Day Sales offered 40% to 60% off Deals of the Day and summer favorites, while Flash Sales offered up to 60% off activewear, up to 70% off shoes and handbags, up to 75% off men’s suits and more throughout July.
Macy’s Black Friday in July Sale
Just as the 4th of July Sale winds down, Macy’s Black Friday in July Sale perks up. Last year, it started on July 6 to July 13, 2023, and included 40% to 50% off women’s tops, 50% off dresses, up to 50% off sandals and shoes, 60% off swimwear, and 65% off fine jewelry, to name a few.
Toward the end of the month, shop the Buy More Save More Sale for up to 40% off furniture and mattresses, depending on how much you spend. You’re probably also starting to think about back to school, and you can score up to 50% off back-to-college essentials and an extra 20% on clothes and other gear.
August
The Macy’s Big Home Sale kicked off August (Aug. 3-13, 2023) with up to 60% off and an extra 20% off throughout all home categories to spruce up your space for fall, which also offered Star Money Bonus Days and an extra 20% off. In mid-August last year, the two-day Buy More Save More Sale offered up to 40% off across multiple categories, primarily men’s, women’s, and kids’ apparel, depending on how much you spent.
The 10 Days of Glam sale will run in August (Aug. 10-20, 2023) with 50% off daily beauty steals, a sale that comes right before the fall edit of Ulta’s Beauty Steals sale (formerly 21 Days of Beauty).
Macy’s Labor Day Sale
The big send-off to summer is Macy’s Labor Sale. It started on Aug. 30, 2023, and extended into the first part of September, offering 25% to 60% off summer and new fall arrivals, plus an extra 20% off toward the end of the sale.
Flash and One-Day Sales will also offer discounts on back-to-school and fall shoes like they did in 2023, plus deals on women’s hats and accessories. Toward the end of August, the fall Ultimate Shopping Event will probably pop up with an extra 25% off new fall merch.
September
Ahead of the next VIP Sale and following last month’s Labor Day Sale, you’ll find plenty of other savings in September. Typical opportunities have included an extra 20% off new fall arrivals, which are already reduced by up to 40%. Plus, Flash Sales in 2023 offered 40% to 50% off fragrances, 50% to 60% off handbags, shoes and accessories, and One Day Sales with up to 60% off a slew of merchandise.
Macy’s VIP Sale: Fall
Just like in spring, Macy’s VIP sale in the fall offers an extra 30% off new seasonal fashion and 15% off beauty staples. Look for this sale after the first half of September (Sept. 21-Oct. 2, 2023).
October
The Fab Fall Sale is the first one after the VIP Sale ends. It features up to 60% off and Star Money Bonus Days with an extra 20% off for Rewards members (new and existing). The Lowest Prices of the Season sale offered up to 60% off on the Aug. 1 to Oct. 31 season. For two days, Macy’s first Holiday Early Access Sale popped up on Oct. 10, 2023, featuring 50% off dresses, coats and more for a limited time.
Macy’s Friends & Famly Sale: Fall
The fall edit of the Friends & Family Sale started on Oct. 23, 2023, and offered an extra 30% off winter gear, cozy home finds, as well as current-season styles. Plus, an extra 15% off beauty products.
November
November at Macy’s is all about the holidays, and kicking off the month last year, One Day Sales offered up to 60% off holiday gifts and holiday fashion. But Black Friday was the star sale.
Macy’s Black Friday Sale
The biggest sale of them all — Macy’s Black Friday Sale — offers the deepest discounts you’ll likely see all year across multiple categories. In 2023, Macy’s ran three different Black Friday sales spanning roughly three weeks.
The super early Black Friday Early Access Sale (Nov. 10-18, 2023) offered the first round of savings holiday ornaments and winter gear, while week two (Nov. 19-25, 2023) offered holiday trees, toys and more until topping them all off with a slew of Black Friday savings from Nov. 24-25, 2023.
December
Following Black Friday, Cyber Monday is the first major sale, although, in 2023, it fell in November, which likely will push back predictable sales in December this year. One Day and Flash Sales were sprinkled in with up to 60% off gifts, shoes, winter coats, to name a few, and up to 70% off other winter picks.
The Great Gift Sale (Dec. 11-14, 2023) offered up to 40% off for everyone on your list with $10 Macy’s Money when you spent $50, and the Last Minute Gift Sale (Dec. 18-24, 2023) offered an extra 20% off for holiday procrastinators.
Macy’s Cyber Monday Sale
The Macy’s Cyber Monday Sale was held in November in 2023, but in 2024, it’s in December — on Dec. 2 to be exact. But plan on shopping these deals days before. Last year, Cyber Monday specials included up to 60% off boots, up to 65% off men’s and women’s coats, up to 50% off fragrances and more.
Macy’s Friends & Family Sale: Winter
In a surprise — but much welcomed — move, Macy’s offered a bonus Friends & Family Sale to holiday shoppers searching for deals on popular gifts at the beginning of December. There’s no guarantee this beloved sale will be back for a third time in 2024, so check back.
