A Kentucky man played dead more than 300 times and posted the videos to social media. He wasn’t trying to prank anyone, though, it was all in an effort to win a role on a television show. Josh Nalley, a restaurant manager, posted each of the videos of him playing dead to TikTok.”It was done out of boredom,” he said.He posed as if he fell off of a ladder stringing Christmas lights, he sprawled in an icy creek holding his breath while his dogs splashed around and even posed with a pumpkin on his head before he got the call from “CSI: Vegas.”Nalley finally got a part on the show, but he obviously didn’t have any lines.”I’m a dead body is what I am,” he said. Nalley worked on audition pieces for the show for more than a year. One of his favorite performances was one when he posed headless.”I did it using a mirror to reflect the ground in front of me so I didn’t have a head,” he said. Once, his posing on his front porch caused a motorist to stop.”I had a mouthful of blood that I was going to dribble out,” he said. While “CSI: Vegas” flew Nalley out west to film the episode, he wasn’t paid for his cameo in the morgue. “It was me laying on a metal gurney for about 5 hours,” he said. But his performance got him a great review from executive producer Jason Tracey.”When Josh lies perfectly still, he is every inch the equal of Sir Lawrence Olivier,” Tracey said.
