A moisture inflow will make its way toward Mississippi, creating a setup for severe weather that will impact much of our viewing area.”We have the capability of those strong, severe thunderstorms, some of which are capable of producing tornadoes,” WAPT meteorologist Christiana Kay said. “Our wind energy, our storm energy, and our lift energy are starting to consolidate on top of each other.”The timeline shows storms should start popping up around the state around 3 p.m. this afternoon, with the potential for much more severe weather starting to arrive after 6 p.m. One of the main areas of concern is that a lot of the heavy bands will be moving through after sunset and into the overnight hours.
