Monday Morning Webcast

16 WAPT’s Meteorologist Christana Kay has the latest forecast for Jackson and Central Mississippi.

Happy monday everybody, we had *** very foggy. You start to the morning several areas waking up to patchy dense fog with visibility less than *** mile or south. Jackson sky camp, couldn’t even see the tree lining across the region in Pearl. *** little bit of improvement over around seven o’clock this morning. Finally starting to see the tree lining in the roadways, but still that patchy dense fog in gloomy conditions over on County Line Road as well. This fog will eventually lift by the middle part of the morning. However, all across central Mississippi, waking up anywhere between *** fog, too dense fog to widespread dense fog down towards the pine belt temperatures have been warming on up as early as five or six o’clock, now 62 degrees at seven o’clock this morning, we will see that warm up from Kosti esco to bell zona later on this morning, but that tropical moisture incoming as the warm front continues to lift towards the north, this front keeps the dividing line so we’re gonna see *** lot of rain along this boundary. So that’s not gonna be happening for us. Instead, it’s gonna be *** warming trend but tropical moisture out of the gulf of Mexico, thanks to that area of high pressure off towards the northern part of this. Now stalled boundary by tomorrow days end, we’re looking at temperatures at or below average, the southeast well above average instead. So for today, we’ll have some breaks in the clouds at times, so we’ll have *** little bit of sunshine, but mostly cloudy skies expected and with the bulk of the rain staying off towards the north, it is still possible we can have *** couple quick splash and dash showers into the afternoon and early evening hours temperatures will be in the mid to low seventies by the afternoon and we’re not really going to see temperatures drop very much into the evening and overnight hours, mid to low sixties expected in the morning. Highs in the afternoon, mid to upper seventies with one or two spots possibly hitting 80 degrees and blustery winds. Your Wednesday after you could have *** hit or miss shower, but it’s really going to be *** warm and humid afternoon, mid to upper seventies and low eighties expected. It’s not just the afternoon highs, it’s also our wake up temperatures that could possibly get either close to record temperatures or in the top five for Tuesday and Wednesday morning are projected. Wake up temperatures are going to be in the mid to low sixties. So again, it’s not record breaking, but we’ll easily get into the top five warmest and that’s gonna be the same for the afternoon thursday night into friday. We’ll have our next but next week cold front move on through this is going to provide *** little bit of *** temperature dip heading into the later part of the weekend into the weekend. *** couple showers overnight should dry on out by daybreak On friday, we are looking at the possibility of yet *** second front making its way through by the weekend and maybe early next week. Depending on the timing, this could trigger *** couple of showers and thunderstorms and temperatures back behind it, cooling down.
