A suspect is in custody in connection with a fatal shooting in Rankin County. Sheriff Bryan Bailey said a woman called 911 at about 9:50 a.m. Tuesday to report that she found her son unconscious with a gunshot wound at a home in the 300 block of North Grove Circle in the reservoir area. Bailey said the 20-year-old victim had been shot in the side and later died. Witnesses told deputies they saw a small white passenger car speeding away from the scene. The suspect, whose name has not been released, surrendered at the sheriff’s office a few hours into a manhunt. Additional details are expected to be released later in the day.
