16 WAPT’s Meteorologist Adam McWilliams has the latest most accurate weather forecast for Jackson and Central Mississippi

just like yesterday, more scattered showers and downpours around the region. *** real lather rinse repeat forecast. And here’s the radar at mid afternoon showers and thunderstorms right now stretching from Greenwood to Yazoo City, down through Canton into parts of southern Rank and counting again. This is lifting to the north and to the east. And right now meridian columbus over towards Greenwood, seeing the worst of the weather, those showers and downpours are really kind of collided right over the Jackson Metro area earlier this afternoon and it’s cooled our temperatures down into the mid seventies. We have been in the upper eighties before the showers move through this afternoon, but as we head to the rest of the afternoon, the showers will continue festering and then as we head towards sunset we lose the daytime heating and most of this activity should begin to diminish for the remainder of the evening into the overnight hours. And the reason for that, we’ve been talking about the past couple of days, this pesky area of low pressure continue slowly lifting the north across Louisiana into Arkansas. And again we have *** lot of deep moisture around the region so combine that with daytime heating and that is the focus for the showers and thunderstorms. Now tomorrow will be *** lot like today, I think maybe the coverage, maybe *** little less then today, but still showers and downpours will be around once again for your sunday afternoon, waking up on sunday morning, mostly cloudy skies, temperatures in the seventies. And then you see the scattered showers developing as we head through the afternoon and they’ll continue festering through about five or six o’clock and then should begin to diminish as we head towards sunset. And then as we head towards July four, more of the same chance of afternoon showers and downpours temperatures will be warmer in the low nineties. So tomorrow we’re calling for *** high of 90 here in Jackson before the storm start getting going in the afternoon. Real Field numbers will be up there, upper nineties to near 100 and the heat is going to be kicking up next week. And those rain chances will be going down high pressure is going to move right on top of us and it’s really going to control the weather for the eastern part of the country. The jet stream well to the north. So all this hot air going all the way up into the midwest. Look at these numbers nineties and 100 you see in our area, temperatures will be in the mid nineties. Real Feel numbers will be over 100 may be closing in on one oh five or 1 10. Take *** look at that real Phil forecast on monday. We’re gonna be in the dangerous category with those. Real film numbers, Tuesday, Wednesday thursday. Look at that. Real feel numbers closing in on 110°. So that’s very dangerous. So be careful if you’re gonna be out and about. We do have *** tropical storm Colin that formed off the coast of the Carolinas. The center of it is right near Wilmington’s. But you see most of the big thunderstorm activity has been offshore. Top ones of 40. This storm is moving to the northeast at seven and we’ll continue moving out into the atlantic. There’s the track of it as we head through sunday into monday, moving out into the atlantic, no threat to the eastern seaboard. Maybe just some high surf in that area. We also have tropical storm bonding which is about to re emerge over the eastern pacific. Since the storm has held together, it will keep the name bonding and expecting to strengthen up into *** hurricane by the middle part of next week as it does move out into the pacific but again, no threat to the gulf of Mexico. We’re still pretty quiet, lingering rain will be around for the next few hours into the first hours after sunset Feeling tropical though, temperatures will be in the low seventies tomorrow, lather rinse repeat more scattered thunderstorms in the forecast temperatures will be near 97 day forecast july 4th 93. Real feel numbers over 100 with *** chance of scattered showers and downpours. Rain, chances go down the temperatures go up for most of next week into the weekend and
