Second arrest made in Copiah County kidnapping and murder

The Copiah County Sheriff’s Office has made two arrests in connection with the death of a 53-year-old man.The investigation began Monday when the father of Billy Ray Jones reported him missing and hadn’t been seen since Saturday night. According to the sheriff’s office, shortly afterward, a Mississippi Department of Transportation worker reported finding a body on the side of Highway 472. The body was later confirmed as that of Jones.Deputies arrested Matthew Nelson, 50, of Georgetown, who is charged with kidnapping and murder in connection with Jones’ death.The Copiah County Sheriff said Adams County investigators arrested second suspect, 32-year-old Tyrell Deonte Bridges.
