Vampire Weekend have shared another new song from their fifth studio album, Only God Was Above Us. The new song, “Mary Boone,” follows “Capricorn,” “Gen-X Cops,” and “Classical.” Watch the new track’s video, directed by Andrew Nisinson and starring New York rapper Despot, below.

“Mary Boone” is named after the New York gallery owner who was greatly influential in the 1980s. Boone closed her two galleries in 2019 ahead of a federal prison stint for offenses connected to tax fraud. She has now served her 30-month sentence and is out of prison.

Ezra Koenig wrote “Mary Boone” and he co-produced the song with Ariel Rechtshaid. The track includes a sample of Soul II Soul’s 1989 single “Back to Life (However Do You Want Me).” In addition, “Mary Boone” features a choir of Eliza Bagg, Jodie Landau, Luc Kleiner, and Kathryn Shuman.

Only God Was Above Us follows 2019’s Father of the Bride. The new album is out April 5 via Columbia.
