The new Taylor Swift Album (“The Tortured Poets Department”) dropped April 19 and, in true Taylor fashion, there was a surprise: a 2 a.m. special drop of additional tracks, making the album a 31-track double album.
In addition, the album has been released in physical form as various collectible versions with different bonus tracks at different retailers. Each edition comes with different art. There are also CD and vinyl versions of some of these special editions.

If you don’t want to stream via an app or streaming site, you can download the digital version of the 31-track “TPD: The Anthology” on Amazon for $14.49 (or purchase individual tracks for $1.29 each). This version has all the bonus tracks.

Note none of the physical versions of the album are the double-album “Anthology” (31-track) version. Each one has the original 16 tracks plus one of three bonus songs. To make things more confusing, some of the Target exclusives are popping up on other resale sites at a huge markup.
Why Buy Physical Albums When You Can Stream?
Now that it’s possible to stream and digitally download albums, why buy physical CDs and vinyl? Especially when all the bonus tracks on these different versions are currently stream-able? And when you can download digital versions and avoid the clutter?
