Married at First Sight stars Stacia Karcher and Nate Barnes are already talking divorce. The track record for couples staying married is getting progressively worse on MAFS, and Stacia and Nate are the latest couple to potentially call it quits. Even though both season 15 participants opted to stay married on Decision Day, during the “Where Are They Now?” special, Stacia told her mother that she asked Nate for a divorce. Stacia was not entirely clear about whether she wanted a divorce or a separation. Either way, she claimed to be unhappy with her husband’s pace in the relationship.
The couple revealed on the MAFS reunion special that they still have not officially moved in together. They said that they were dividing their time between her house and his apartment, and that seemed to be working well for Stacia and Nate. However, that appears to have changed since the reunion. On the MAFS “Where Are They Now?” special, which aired November 16, Stacia revealed her frustration over Nate wanting to take things slow, despite the fact that they are legally married, in love, and sexually compatible. Stacia told her mother that she is the only one trying in the relationship. She said that she moved her things into Nate’s apartment after Decision Day. Then, he told her that he, “needed space,” and asked her to move out.
Stacia & Nate From MAFS Stopped Talking
As for the conversation with her mother, the famous Married at First Sight cast member Stacia had not heard from Nate in two weeks. However, according to an exclusive November 18 interview with Distractify, the couple hasn’t thrown in the towel just yet. Although things are still very rocky, Stacia told Distractify, “I feel like we’re still trying to get to know each other, but there’s still a lot of love. And we’re still trying to work it out.
Red Flags Were Waving Early For Stacia & Nate
Stacia and Nate always had trouble getting on the same page. Their troubles started when Stacia asked Nate how his feelings were progressing on a scale of one to 10, and he told her he was around a four. When she admitted that she was closer to an eight, he said he felt terrible. The couple had multiple arguments throughout the MAFS season, in which Stacia complained that Nate was not invested enough in their relationship, and was not sufficiently opening up. That disconnect has remained a common thread throughout their marriage. During the “Where Are They Now?” special, Nate had a conversation with Krysten Collins, who chose to get divorced from Mitch Silverstein, as seen on the MAFS season 15 Decision Day episode. Nate explained that he and Stacia had a huge argument, and he felt like he had lost his wife. He clarified that Stacia’s “commands” that he be vulnerable really triggered him. However, he still wanted to make things work.
Later in the episode, Nate showed up at Stacia’s house with painting materials, and asked her to join him in some creative playtime. She reluctantly agreed, but the situation soon turned as dark as both of their black paintings. Like many conversations the MAFS couple had during their first two months of marriage, Nate insisted that he wanted to take things slowly, and live in the moment, which clearly exasperated his wife. She acknowledged to her mother that she was confused about why he would even be on the show, which is about marriage, when he seemed completely unable to think about the future. Nate continued to struggle due to Stacia’s lack of faith in him.
There has been no divorce filing on Nate or Stacia’s behalf as of this writing, and the interview with Distractify is providing fans with hope. Whether Lindy Elloway and Miguel Santiago are going to be the only couple to stay married from Married at First Sight season 15 remains to be seen. Many viewers are rooting for Nate and Stacia to go the distance, but there may be too many roadblocks for them to get past.
