A woman is in critical condition after a house fire that killed her two dogs.The Ridgeland Fire Department said several units responded Thursday to the fire on Peach Orchard Drive. When the first units arrived, they reported seeing heavy smoke coming from a bedroom window.Firefighters made a quick entry and were able to rapidly bring the fire under control. Firefighters searched the home and found the woman and her dogs. The woman was taken by ambulance to a hospital. “Unfortunately, even though fire crews performed CPR on the dogs for over 35 minutes, they succumbed to their injuries,” fire officials said in a social media post.The woman’s name was not immediately released.
