Humidity on the rise, feels like temperatures nearing 100 degrees

16 WAPT’s Christana Kay Meteorologist has the latest forecast for Jackson and Central Mississippi.

happy sunday everybody, we woke up to some patchy fog in south Mississippi and over towards Meridian early this morning around seven o’clock timeframe, Jackson did have some patchy fog before the sun rose, but that quickly lifted right after sunrise, temperatures are sitting in the seventies. We’ve been seeing some showers and storms due to the upper level low continuing to push off towards the north and east. Today. It’s really that remnant low that provided *** lot of that tropical moisture over towards texas slowly been progressing towards the north and east. And so this is going to really increase our rain chances in parts of our northern counties later on this afternoon. Here’s those temperatures around the seven o’clock timeframe, Mid seventies highs getting into the upper eighties and low nineties later on today, clouds are going to increase once again and humidity is not going to help us out whatsoever. Feels like temperatures in the upper nineties to low one hundreds rain chances are going to be possible in spots, but I really don’t think south Mississippi will see the shot of rain today. I think *** lot of that is going to be along and north of I 20 and then off towards our eastern counties later on this afternoon and into the evening hours coverage. Not really *** lot. These are very pocketed thunderstorms and heavy downpours and as we head to the evening hours, the metro will have to keep *** possible look at the chance for rain and maybe an isolated thunderstorm. This could possibly hinder some of those fireworks plans later on this evening, Liberty Park having their fireworks tonight could have *** straight shower or *** storm going into the sunset hours, but by the start of the fireworks, we should be dry but muggy overnight tonight, 74 degrees, mostly cloudy skies to kick off the morning, could have *** stray shower and our northern counties And those rain chances will pick up for some of us four year, fourth of july in the afternoon. Again, not everybody expected to see rain, but the possibility of rain and *** stray storm is going to be there later on tomorrow. Real field guys back in the upper nineties Too low 100 so as we head into the week, rain chances are going to be possible, but they will start to diminish as we head into the back half of the week. With those rain, chances going down humidity going up and real field values getting to that very dangerous level. Not very comfortable whatsoever. You really need to keep in mind of this week of how your body is reacting to this heat. You really want to keep in mind as well with the heat exhaustion and heat stroke symptoms. If you’re getting any of those symptoms, you need to go inside and seek medical help. Even though those highs are gonna be staying in the mid nineties. Again, those real values not gonna be helping us out at all going into next weekend. We could have *** stray shower or storm on saturday, but rain chances look to pick on up the back half of the weekend and into next week. Mm.
