After hearing the sounds of babies crying from his home, a Memphis man stepped in to help two children who were left alone.Nicholas Garrett told WMC he was visiting a friend when he first heard a high-pitched scream and went to investigate. Two houses down the street, he eventually found a baby alone in the cold and called 911. “The baby didn’t have no shirt, no shoes, no pants,” Garrett said. When police arrived to assist, they found another child in the home. Garrett, 33, said he’s a father of three and is glad he trusted his gut in this situation. Although the children were unharmed and released to relatives, Garrett said police believe they had been alone for two days.Garrett eventually used social media to track down the children so he could assist with anything they needed. “We went to Walmart, Family Dollar, and we got so much stuff for this baby like both of them,” he said.
