New Knuckles Clip Reveals An Explosive Battle In The Sonic TV Spinoff

A new clip from Knuckles reveals an explosive battle in the upcoming Sonic the Hedgehog TV spinoff, teasing how big of a threat the miniseries’ new villain is going to be. The upcoming series follows its titular character as he teaches human police officer Wade Whipple the ways of an Echidna warrior. However, trouble arrives in the form of The Buyer, a villain who wants to steal Knuckles’ quills in order to utilize the power flowing through them.

Now, Paramount+ has released a new clip for the upcoming Knuckles TV series, showcasing an explosive battle between the main hero and The Buyer.

The short scene reveals the echidna is no match for the power of his opponent’s mech, which swings him into cars so hard it causes them to explode. At the end of the clip, the familiar game character appears to have been defeated, with The Buyer gloating over the fallen hero.

Knuckles Adds A New Dynamic To Sonic’s Cinematic Universe

Sonic the Hedgehog 2 ended with Sonic, Tails, and Knuckles going to live with Tom and Maddie, their adventure in defeating Robotnik finally over. It also set the stage for the next movie, which will feature the introduction of Shadow the Hedgehog as the next key character from the games to become part of the ongoing story. However, the budding cinematic universe still has plenty of potential when it comes to developing the characters it’s already introduced.

The Knuckles TV shows is a way to explore the echidna more in-depth, giving him more prominent characterization than can be crafted in the runtime of a movie. His upcoming conflict with The Buyer can assist in further developing him as part of Sonic’s new world, as well as reveal more about his powers and why the new villain truly wants them. It also allows the spotlight to be shifted away from the Blue Blur in favor of other characters from the video game franchise.

With the miniseries coming out ahead of Sonic the Hedgehog 3‘s release, it’s possible this upcoming adventure also has implications for what happens in the next theatrical installment. While Knuckles will likely maintain its focus on its titular hero, there’s still a chance the show will feature some hints about what the future of the franchise will bring as a whole. Even if those hints are small, it still offers a new dynamic for the universe as it expands onto the small screen for the first time.
