Per pound, prices for turkey, the holiday’s biggest staple, are up 17% year over year.Rebecca Gaffney gets emotional when she thinks about having to cut back but says the time spent with family is priceless. “It’s just a time to really sit down and be thankful for what you do have… so you’re not always going to have people you love,” Rebecca said.Some say they’ll cut costs throughout the month to afford Thanksgiving ingredients or shop local, which Karen Wilson believes is the trick to saving dollars.”I’ve seen a lot of the prices are dropping so that’s good to hear so that when I start next week, I should see lower prices,” Wilson said.
