Tonight at the 2023 MTV Video Music Awards, Metro Boomin brought out a string of guests during his debut performance at the awards show. Future joined the producer onstage at the Prudential Center in Newark, New Jersey for a rendition of their 2022 single “Superhero (Heroes & Villains)” (the recorded version also features Chris Brown). Then, A Boogie Wit Da Hoodie, Swae Lee, and Nav stopped by to perform “Calling.” Before it kicked off, though, Metro opened by teasing a new album with Future. Watch it all happen below.
“Superhero (Heroes and Villains)” is nominated for Best Hip-Hop at tonight’s event. “Creepin’ (Remix),” Metro Boomin’s track with the Weeknd, 21 Savage, and Diddy, is up for Best Collaboration and Best R&B. “Superhero (Heroes and Villains)” appears on Metro Boomin’s 2022 album Heroes & Villains, as does the original version of “Creepin’.”
