A bridge serving a major route for residents in a Jackson subdivision has closed. The bridge is located on Beasley Road between Hanging Moss Road to the east and Watkins Drive to the west. According to city leaders, it will be closed to traffic indefinitely. City officials say after an inspection, it was determined that the bridge needed to be replaced. Drivers in the area say making a detour will be a headache for daily travel. Harry Lane, who lives in the neighborhood, said, “Well, it just takes more time you know, if you’re leaving at the last minute, you’re going to be late for work and stuff.”Ward 2 Jackson City Councilwoman Angelique Lee says a vote on a request for a proposal to work on the bridge could come up in the April 1 city council meeting.
