The Bachelor season 27 star Zach Shallcross has returned to Instagram now that he has completed filming his journey on the show. Zach, a 26-year-old tech executive who currently lives in Austin, Texas, made it to the Fantasy Suites with Rachel Recchia in The Bachelorette season 19 after they formed a strong connection earlier in the season. After a magical one-on-one date and a successful hometown date, Zach appeared to be a frontrunner for Rachel’s final rose. However, during their Fantasy suite date, things took a turn when Rachel began to question if Zach was really ready for an engagement at his young age. Zach later said that Rachel turned into a completely different person behind closed doors, which really shocked him. Despite the initial heartbreak, Zach is ready to move on and is now the Bachelor season 27 leading man.

In an Instagram post, Zach shared a picture of himself holding a long-stemmed rose from his debut as the Bachelor on The Bachelorette season 19 “After the Final Rose” episode. He captioned the picture with, “This has been an unreal 2022. A complete roller coaster from start to finish. This year has taught me more than I could have ever imagined and I wouldn’t trade it for the world.” Zach also implied that his Bachelor journey has a happy ending by concluding his post with, “Can’t wait for you all to see how this journey to true, forever love unfolds.” He added, “1/23/23,” which is the date that his season begins.

Zach Shallcross’ Bachelorette Season 19 Co-stars Support Him

Zach’s The Bachelorette season 19 co-stars flooded the comments sections with well-wishes. Ethan Kang wrote, “Shallsquatch is ready for love baby!!!,” while Mario Vassall said, “Dialed in all season bro. Can’t wait to watch you in your journey. January 23rd let’s gooo!” Quincey Williams added, “Supporting you through the whole journey brotha!,” while Alec Garza stated, “Let’s go baby!!!” Justin Young, who most recently appeared on Bachelor in Paradise season 8 wrote, “Excited to support you and watch bro [heart emoji] got your back.”

Although some Bachelor fans were initially disappointed to hear that Zach was chosen to be the next lead of the show because they thought that he was not interesting enough, they are beginning to warm up to the idea. Host Jesse Palmer has said Zach’s Bachelor season feels like a throwback, and that there is less drama, but more love. Perhaps “boring” is exactly what the franchise needs right now after years of over-the-top drama. Fans have been asking for this kind of change for a long time, so they should be happy to hear that Zach seems to be saying in his Instagram post that there could be an engagement at the end of his season. Out of the past four Bachelor seasons since 2019 (Colton Underwood, Peter Weber, Matt James, and Clayton Echard) there was only one proposal (Peter). However, Peter and Hannah Ann Sluss broke up shortly after their engagement. Only Matt and his girlfriend Rachael Kirkconnell are still going strong. The only Bachelor who actually married his choice was Sean Lowe, who wed Catherine Giudici in 2014.

Zach’s Bachelor season already started during The Bachelorette season 19 “After the Final Rose” episode when America voted to award Brianna with his first impression rose, a first for the franchise. Now they will have to wait until January to see what exactly Zach meant by his post. However, he did say that it was a “journey to true, forever love,” so hopefully Zach is happily engaged.

The Bachelor season 27 premieres January 23 on ABC.
